The sixteenth Viennese Ball was held in the largest hall of the Russian capital - Gostiny Dvor.
Gostiny Dvor was erected in Moscow at the end of the XVIII century by decree of Catherine the Great. The author of the grandiose project was the famous Italian architect Giacomo Quarenghi.
This is the largest commercial building in Moscow of the end of the XVIII - beginning of the XIX century, which became a model of similar buildings in many cities of Russia.
